Labyrinth, 2025

“Labyrinth’ honours First Nations connections to Country, drawing on my Anaiwan heritage. This piece is a result of a ritual of repetition where mark making builds upon itself,  creating a richly layered organic map of worm holes, moth doodles and termite wings in a Stringybark open forest. However, my work extends beyond the ecological, suggesting it as a means to heal and strengthen the bonds between people, land and culture. There are worlds out there hidden from view but it does not mean they do not exist and do not require our attention.” ~ Miranda Hampson 2025
