“Walking is how the body measures itself against tthe earth” writes author Rebecca Solnit – so simply and poignantly, in her book -‘Wanderlust: A History of Walking’.
With ‘Watching Dawn Break and Dusk Fall’, Port Stephens based Linda Greedy has painted six impressions of a trip around Low Head, Tasmania and the Three Capes Track. We see the artist measuring herself with and against the landscape, articulating the awe she felt while on this beautiful country.
These works, “gifting me the opportunity to take time to immerse and appreciate the sights, sound and unpredictable weather of our natural environment”.
Linda is a Paddington Art Prize, Lethbridge 20000 and Muswellbrook Art Prize finalist. This is the artist’s debut exhibition at Michael Reid Southern Highlands.
