Painting is an intrinsically human process, a function of understanding the external, floating world through the filers of nature – they eye, the mind and the hand. No painting can be divorced entirely from the human, and this fact forms the basis of my work.
In my studio, I explore the visual language of classical academic art training and its transposition to contemporary art spaces and immersive gallery experiences, hybridising visual languages wherever possible to explore the tensions between knowledge sources.
As an educator, I am passionate about providing a comprehensive understanding for any level of art practice and theory.
