Phoebe Stone

Phoebe Stone is a Sydney-based artist working on Cammeraygal land, whose practice is rooted in the expressive possibilities of oil pastels. Known for her vibrant depictions of domestic life, she has exhibited in numerous group shows and is represented in private collections both in Australia and internationally. In 2022, she was awarded the Lane Cove Art Prize in the Drawing & Mixed Media category.

Stone’s work is defined by her exploration of composition, colour, pattern, and texture. Her subjects often centre on the intimate and the everyday—scenes of food, household objects, and the quiet details of daily life. These elements are rendered with a sense of urgency and intuition, her oil stick moving swiftly across the surface.
